The Naifeh Families Chest Pain Center at
INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center has
recently received accreditation from the
Society of Chest Pain Centers. The Chest Pain
Center, located inside the newly expanded
Emergency department at INTEGRIS Baptist,
received this accreditation by exceeding the
most stringent criteria, as well as completing
on-site evaluations performed by a team from
the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
“Our protocols and pathways for patient
care have surpassed those of many chest
pain centers in the country,” says Bruce
Lawrence, president and COO, INTEGRIS
metro facilities.
Heart attacks continue to be the leading
cause of death in the United States. Patients
who experience chest pain symptoms can be
evaluated and treated immediately at the
Chest Pain Center. The Society of Chest Pain
Centers knows the importance of educating
the public on recognizing the early symptoms
of a possible heart attack. The center is vital
in ensuring patients receive treatment more
quickly, thus helping reduce the mortality rate
of heart attacks.
Key areas where the Naifeh Families Chest
Pain Center has demonstrated expertise
include:
- Integrating the Emergency department
with the local emergency medical system.
- Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients
quickly.
- Effectively treating patients with low risk
for acute coronary syndrome and no
assignable cause for their symptoms.
- Having a functional design that promotes
optimal patient care.
- Ensuring Chest Pain Center personnel
competency and training.
- Ensuring Chest Pain Center personnel
competency and training.
- Continually seeking to improve processes
and procedures
- Supporting community outreach programs
that educate the public to promptly seek
medical care if they display symptoms of
a possible heart attack.
“We strive to improve the cardiovascular
health of the people in our community,” says
Lawrence. “This Chest Pain Center accreditation
will let our patients know that they are
receiving the quality care they deserve.” The
accreditation process ensures that the Naifeh
Families Chest Pain Center has exceeded the
measures necessary for quality patient care in
acute cardiac medicine.
