INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center

A BABY IS COMING- Parent Education Class Series. The fee is $80 per couple.

Part I - Growing Healthy Babies focuses on healthy pregnancy and healthy parenting skills. This class is designed to be taken in the second trimester of pregnancy.

6 evening classes. 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (Classes may be taken later than second trimester if needed).

OR

4 Saturday classes. First class - 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes - 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

• Anatomy/Physiology of Pregnancy - How does your body grow a healthy baby?

• Optimal Nutrition - Preventing complications during pregnancy, labor and birth, and maximizing your baby's growth and brain development.

• Your Developing Baby - Getting to know your baby before he/she is born.

Part II - Birthing Healthy Babies focuses on preparing for the actual birth of your child. This class is designed to be taken in the last trimester of pregnancy.

7 evening classes - 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

5 Saturday morning classes - 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

• The Normal Birthing Process

• The Role of the Labor Companion During Birthing

• Communicating With Your Medical Caregivers

• Benefits/Risks of Hospital Procedures and Medical Interventions Often Used in Birthing

• Cesarean Birth

• Writing Your Personal Birth Preferences for Your Child's Birth

• Comfort Skills for Labor (Relaxation, Breathing, Massage, Body Positioning)

• Postpartum Recovery After Birth

• Hospital Tour

OTHER PARENT CLASSES INCLUDE:

A Baby is Coming – Again

One refresher class for couples whom both mom and dad have previously taken classes and had a child within the last five to seven years. The class is held every other month on Saturday from Noon to 6 p.m. at INTEGRIS Baptist . The fee is $25 per couple.

Successful Breastfeeding

Two classes held on weekday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. or one class on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at INTEGRIS Baptist. Fee is $10 per couple.

Infant/Child CPR Classes

One class held once a month from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on various evenings. Fee is $15 per person.

FOR SIBLINGS AND GRANDPARENTS:

Grandparenting Classes

This session is offered one Sunday every other month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at INTEGRIS Baptist. There is no charge for this class.

Pals From the Start - Sibling Class

This class is designed for siblings-to-be, ages 3 years to 12 years and is held one Sunday afternoon a month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at INTEGRIS Baptist. There is no charge for this class.

Prenatal Classes
