Transplant Cardiologist


A.S. Dahr, M.D. is a transplant cardiologist closely associated with the NZTI program since its inception 23 years ago. He has performed cardiac clearance assessments for all 5000 liver transplant candidates evaluated at NZTI since the liver program's initiation in 1992. On the heart transplantation side, he has performed over 2000 endocardial biopsies since initiation of the heart transplant program in 1985. Dr. Dahr completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa and his cardiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. In addition, he achieved a master's degree in pharmacology from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. A resident of Oklahoma City and a member of the Integris Baptist medical staff since 1972, he is married and has four children and two grandchildren.
