Yi Huang, MD

Yi Huang, M.D., received his medical qualification in 1990 at the Tong-Ji Medical University in Wuhan City, China. Following this, he went on further training in the post-graduate school and completed a two-year master program and three-year doctoral program, and subsequently received his doctor’s degree in medicine and diploma in surgery in 1995. During this period, he also completed his residency in general surgery followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular surgery. He, then, worked as attending surgeon at the First Teaching Hospital (Union Hospital) of Tong-Ji Medical University in Central China. Later, he became a faculty member as a lecturer at the same university hospital in the capacity of teaching, research, and clinical work.

Because of his extensive training, strong background, and experience in clinical research, Dr. Huang was offered a job as research fellow at the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute in early 1999. Then, he became a clinical fellow and received training in the various aspects of organ procurement. Currently, he is a fellow surgeon in our multi-organ procurement team. He also serves as surgical assistant in transplant surgery.
