Insomnia


Insomnia is a common sleep problem that is the inability to fall asleep or stay asleep.  Insomnia often is aassociated with depression, anxiety and poort quality of life.

Symptoms may include:

  • Inability to fall asleep
  • Inability to stay asleep
  • Early morning awakenings


Insomnia may result for many reasons including:

  • Overuse of medications
  • Emotional difficulties
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Jet lag
  • Shift work
  • Periodic leg movements
  • Stress
  • Sleep apnea
