Director--The Rev. Karrie A. Oertli

Chaplain Oertli received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University in 1978. She also studied toward a Master of Arts degree at Texas A&M University in 1979. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1991 and was ordained in 1991 by Western Hills Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas. She became a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains in February 1996 and an ACPE Supervisor with The Association for Clinical Pastoral Education in 2001. She has served as a chaplain at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center since 1994. She is currently the Director of Pastoral Care and the Administrative Director of The James L. Hall Center for Mind, Body, Spirit at INTEGRIS Health. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain, Chaplain Oertli served as a hospice chaplain. She is married and had six adult children and four grandchildren.

 

Staff Chaplains

Chaplain Ron Argo received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1969 and was ordained in 1971. He received a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1972 and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University 1988. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain, Chaplain Argo served as a pastor of two congregations and then served as a Child Care Coordinator and then President of the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. He has worked at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center since March of 1997. He became a Board Certified Chaplain in 2001. His fields of specialty are Grief Ministry and Cardiology, and he provides the Chapter II grief support groups. He is married and has two adult children and three grandchildren.

Chaplain Mike Champlin was ordained in 1951. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1955 and a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1959. He has worked at INTEGRIS Health as a hospital chaplain since 1974 and has been a Board Certified Chaplain since 1980. His fields of specialty are the Women’s Center and the Neonate Intensive Care Unit. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain, Chaplain Champlin served as the pastor of several congregations. He has two adult children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Chaplain James H. Edge received his Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Corrections degree from the University of Nebraska, Omaha in 1971. He received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1985. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education at Gunderson Clinic, Lacrosse, WI, and at the Mayo Clinic. He was ordained in 1990. He has worked at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center since 1993 and has been a Board Certified Chaplain since 2001. His fields of specialty are Oncology and Cardiology. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain, Chaplain Edge retired as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served as a Home Missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention. He is married with two adult children and two grandchildren

Chaplain Rusty Elkins received a Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern State University of Oklahoma in 1978 and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1982. He was ordained in 1989 and has worked At INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center since August of 2000. He became a Board Certified Chaplain in 2003. His fields of specialty are Neurology, Urology, Burn, and Surgery. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain, Chaplain Elkins spent ten years in youth ministry and ten years in student ministry on a college campus. He is married with two teenage children.

Chaplain Oran Lee received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University in 1979, and a Master Of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 1983. He was ordained in 1986. He has served as a chaplain at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center since August 1992 and has been a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains since February 1996. His fields of specialty are Pediatrics, Transplant Medicine, and Emergency Medicine. His most recent article is entitled, “The Spiritual Dimensions of Organ Transplantation” in the Spring/Summer issue of Chaplaincy Today. He serves as a board member of HOPE, an organization that works with transplant candidates, recipients, and donor families. Prior to becoming a hospital chaplain, he served two churches as pastor and one as the associate pastor. He is married with two adult children.

 

Administrative Staff

Glenda Thompson is the administrative secretary to the Department of Pastoral Care. She has been an employee of INTEGRIS for more than 15 years, and is ready to assist you in any way. She is a native of Texas and has two adult children.
