The Department of Pastoral Care provides spiritual support to patients, their families, and hospital staff. Our chaplains make rounds daily, and anyone may request a chaplain visit at any time. If you would like to see a chaplain, you may either ask your nurse to contact a chaplain for you, or you may dial the hospital operator and ask for a visit from the chaplain on call.

Chapel Services

At IBMC, the R.C. Howard, Jr. Memorial Chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital. Worship services are held at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday.

The ISMC Chapel is located near the elevators on the first floor of the hospital. Worship services are held in the Chapel and at Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital on Sundays.

Boxes are located in both of the chapels for your prayer requests.  Chaplains pray daily for these requests. You may also request prayer using our On-Line Prayer Request. The chapels are also available at any time for your use.

Support Groups

The Department of Pastoral Care at IBMC provides a six-week grief support group, Chapter II, several times throughout the year. If you are interested in attending such a support group, please contact IBMC Pastoral Care at (405) 949-3195.

The Department of Pastoral Care at ISMC provides a grief support group, Life After Loss, which meets several times a year. For information about this group, please contact ISMC Pastoral Care at (405) 636-7951.

Clinical Pastoral Education

The Department of Pastoral Care at IBMC is an accredited member center of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), Inc., to provide programs of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
