Physician, author and columnist Andrew Weil is one of the world’s foremost authorities on health, wellness and integrative medicine. His revolutionary work as a physician has triggered a profound change in the practice of medicine.
Weil is the Director of the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine. The program was the first to include courses on alternative therapies, mind/body interactions, healing and other subjects not currently emphasized in medical education.
His new book, Why Our Health Matters: A Vision of Medicine That Can Transform Our Future (Sept. '09), identifies what has gone wrong with healthcare in America and offers a realistic vision of how we can achieve optimum health through personal responsibility and a new model of medicine.
Dr. Weil has been a guest on Oprah, Good Morning America, NPR’s Fresh Air, The Today Show and many other shows. He received his A.B. and M.D. degrees from Harvard University.
