Levacor

INTEGRIS Advanced Cardiac Care is proud to bring revolutionary device and clinical trials to Oklahoma.  The Levacor represents the newest generation of ventricular assist device (VAD) technology.  Whereas previous devices VADs had moving parts or mechanical bearings which could wear out, the Levacor employs a magnetically-levitated (Mag-Lev) rotor to pump blood.  In simple terms, we hope that a complex Mag-Lev system will produce VADs that last longer with fewer complications for our patients.  We are participating in a clinical trial of the Levacor VAD, in part, to see if it can deliver on those hopeful promises.

Dr. Long, the Surgical Director of the Advanced Cardiac Care program, was part of the team who initially developed the blood pumps which evolved into the Levacor and continues to work to bring this exciting new technology to clinical reality.
