Marcelo D. Miranda, INTEGRIS Health Executive Chef | |  Marcelo Miranda has been the Executive Chef for INTEGRIS Health since 2002. His primary role is to provide a variety of food choices to patients, employees and visitors of INTEGRIS. He uses his twenty years of experience as an Executive Chef from prestigious country clubs, to produce recipes with Heart Healthy choices for his INTEGRIS clients. Marcelo provides service to the Oklahoma community by featuring a Heart Healthy recipe on KWTV-News9 in Oklahoma City each week.
Chef Marcelo is an active participant in the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Chef Federation and as such, volunteers time to teach cooking classes to students at Platt College and participants of the Job Corp located in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He is also a member of Escoffier Society, American Bocuse d'Or Academy and Les Toques Blanches International Club and has served as a member of the advisory board of Oxnard College Culinary Program.
The eclectic creations by Chef Marcelo are inspired by dishes of France, Italy, Carribe, and South American origins. His unique, gourmet cuisine has won him several top awards, including 3 Silver Medals from American Culinary Federation National Competitions. In 1997, Chef Marcelo was a finalist in the Bocuse d'Or, a world class contest after the spirit of "Culinary Olympiads".
Marcelo obtained his formal culinary education in Sao Paulo, Brazil and later continued his education at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Napa Valley, California. He plans to continue his education and and join the elite group of Masters Chef, of which there are only 55 members in America.
Prior to moving to Oklahoma, Marcelo resided in California and was the featured Executive Chef at Spanish Hills Country Club, Ojai Valley Inn ( Ojai - Ca. ), Four Seasons Hotels ( Beverly Hills - Ca./ Santa Barbara - Ca.), Ma Maison ( Beverly Hills - Ca. ).
He currently lives in Edmond, Oklahoma with his wife and two daughters.
