Heart Scan vs. Multi-slice CT
Heart Scan vs. Multi-slice CT

HeartScan vs. spiral and helical CT scans
Like trying to capture a clear image of a speeding car in motion with a still camera, continuous cardiac motion makes it difficult for spiral or helical CT scanners to acquire clear images; they can't acquire images fast enough to prevent blurring. Spiral or helical CT scans are thus not a feasible alternative to the HeartScan when it comes to accurately measuring artery calcium deposits.

EBCT HeartScan provides clearer images
than the Multi-Slice CT.

The white areas on the EBT HeartScan show a calcium deposit buildup on the heart.

Because it uses EBT technology, the radiation exposure of a HeartScan is low. Cheaper, less accurate scans can expose you to up to five times more radiation.

HeartScan vs. treadmill stress tests
Treadmill Stress Test Treadmill stress tests and thallium stress tests can only detect blockage when arteries are obstructed at least 50 percent. This is a concern when you consider heart attacks can occur in people whose arteries are 30 percent - 50 percent blocked.

HeartScan vs. echocardiogram tests
Echocardiogram tests cannot directly detect overall calcium buildup that leads to heart attacks.
