At INTEGRIS, the Cath Lab remains on the cutting edge of technology by participating in clinical and drug research studies. INTEGRIS was the first facility in the state to offer the new Drug Eluting Stent. In the near future, the lab will become fully digital with web-based access viewing.

The Cath Lab has five state-of-the-art procedure rooms for performing numerous heart and vessel imaging studies and treatments. In the Heart Cath Lab, highly trained specialists identify and diagnose heart problems, use medicines to dissolve blood clots, re-open blood vessels and remove obstructions within blood vessels.

Within the Cath Lab is our specialized Electrophysiology Lab (EP). Here patients experiencing irregular heart rates (arrhythmias) can undergo diagnostic exams to identify the specific cause of the problem or receive life-saving treatments such as pacemaker or defibrillator implants, or the insertion of the TandemHeart system.

In addition to the procedure rooms in the cath lab, INTEGRIS has a special holding area where patients are observed before undergoing procedures and are closely monitored after procedures. The cath lab serves twenty-seven interventional cardiologists and three electrophysiologists, who perform the numerous diagnostic and treatment procedures.

The Heart Cath Lab has thirty-five highly trained staff members operating in teams of three, consisting of a Radiology Technologist, a Registered Nurse, and a Scrub Technician. All of our nurses and a majority of the technical staff members are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training. In addition, the cath lab has an emergency crew available 24 hours, seven days a week, with a response time under 30 minutes. We strive to give the best and most comprehensive care to our patients and their families.
