Emotional Stress

A wound that results in disfigurement affects patients both physically and emotionally. The psychiatrist is available for patient consultation and counseling at the request of the patient’s physician and/or family. The chaplain is also available for the spiritual and pastoral needs of the patient and family in the burn center. The chaplain helps the patient discover the significance of his or her faith during the recovery process.
