Program Features


Treatment plans are designed and implemented by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals based on specific needs of the individual. Teams may include psychiatrists, other physicians, registered nurses, social workers, dietitians and physical and occupational therapists. Treatment plan strategies are modified to meet the changing needs of the patient.

Assessments are available 24 hours a day, and care is provided in the areas of general psychiatry, medical detoxification, medical gero-psychiatry and electroconvulsive therapy. Inpatient services include:

  • Crisis intervention and stabilization
  • Comprehensive psychological testing and assessment
  • Functional and nutritional assessment
  • Medical evaluation and treatment
  • Individual, family and group therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Support groups
  • Family education
  • Extensive discharge planning
  • Follow-up

Generations Short Term Inpatient Care can help patients age 65 and older who exhibit

  • sudden mental or behavioral changes
  • severe depression
  • anxiety and/or panic attacks
  • loss of interest, irritability, sadness
  • behavior that’s a potential danger to self or others
  • an inability to cope with stressful situations
  • an inability to perform activities of daily living
