Hormonal abnormalities may be a cause of infertility. Blood tests are not routinely obtained in infertility. They are ordered in the infertile woman only if she has irregular cycles or specific physical complaints (e.g. excess hair growth, fatigue, breast discharge). Blood tests often consist of thyroid function tests, Prolactin, FSH, LH, and androgens.
