Perry Santos, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.S., joined the staff of the Otologic Medical Clinic in 1999. He received his medical school training at the University of California in San Diego. He then received specialized training in ear, nose and throat, i.e. otolaryngology, at the University of Washington, Seattle, followed by a Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship in Otolaryngology at Guy's Hospital in London, England.
Dr. Santos completed a masters of science in bioengineering during his residency at the University of Washington. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1995.
Board certified in otolaryngology, Dr. Santos is director of the Head and Neck Division of the Otologic Medical Clinic. He specializes in the treatment of diseases related to sinus disorders, head and neck tumors, and a special emphasis on voice-related and swallowing disorders.
Prior to coming to Oklahoma, Dr. Santos was an associate professor with tenure in the Division of Otolaryngology at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where he won several "Excellence in Teaching" awards. While at Southern Illinois University, he was medical director of the Voice Clinic and associate director of the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit. In addition to treating patients, he was also principal investigator on numerous research projects related to his specialty. One of these projects dealt with nerve regeneration and served as his thesis for entry into the Triological Society, the senior medical society for otolaryngologists.
Dr. Santos has published numerous articles and taught national courses for the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has lectured internationally as well on medical mission trips to Jordan, Vietnam, Siberia, Moldova and the Ukraine.
