R. Stanley Baker, M.D.


R. Stanley Baker, MDR. Stanley Baker, M.D., completed a one-year fellowship at the Hough Ear Institute in 1988 and immediately joined Drs. Hough and McGee in practicing adult and pediatric otology and neurotology at the Otologic Medical Clinic. 

His clinical interests include hearing and balance disorders, ear diseases, facial nerve conditions and cochlear implant evaluation and surgery. He has worked on research projects involving cochlear as well as middle ear implantable hearing devices.

Dr. Baker was National Merit Scholar in high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Residencies in general surgery and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery were done at the University of California-Davis, Sacramento Medical Center (UCDSMC).

In 1986-87 Dr. Baker was a clinical instructor in the department of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at UCDSMC. Since 1988 he has been a clinical assistant professor in the department of otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and since 1989 has been an adjunct assistant professor in the communications disorders department there as well. He has been chairman of the Otolaryngology Department at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center since 1994. He has authored or co-authored several textbook chapters and articles in numerous journals within his field.

Board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology since 1987, Dr. Baker is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and has been a course instructor at its annual meeting for several years. He holds memberships in the prestigious American Neurotologic Society, as well as the Oklahoma Academy of Otolaryngology, having served as president of that organization in 1994. In addition, he is a member of the American Medical Association and the Oklahoma State Medical Association.
