Pamela Litschke

Hello, I’m Pam, an outpatient diabetes nurse at the ediba Diabetes Center of Excellence at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
I joined the IBMC diabetes team in 2007. Previously, I worked as an inpatient RN serving patients at the bedside both locally and as a travel nurse to Alaska. During those years, I met and cared for numerous patients hospitalized with diabetes-related complications including heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, amputation, and others.

As an outpatient diabetes nurse, I work collaboratively with dietitians through group and individual classes to provide evidence-based diabetes education. Patients gain diabetes management skills and information to help them prevent and delay the progression of such diabetes-related complications—and that is why I so enjoy the work accomplished on this “side-of-the-fence” in the care of patients with diabetes.

I am a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. I have also held positions as an officer of the Western Oklahoma Diabetes Association, an AADE local affiliate chapter. I served as secretary in 2007-2008; and as president in 2008-2009. I have also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Southern Nazarene University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
