A product is being used called Integra. Scar tissue is removed and Integra is placed over the damaged area. Integra is made up of an inner layer of cow collagen and shark cartilage and an outer layer of silicone to protect the burned area from infection. It lessens the risk of scarring by supporting regrowth of the deeper layers of the skin.
