About The Neuroscience Institute

The INTEGRIS Neuroscience Institute is located on the campus of INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center and has two primary product lines, the James R. Daniel Stroke Center and the MDA/ALS Neuromuscular Center. Our comprehensive team of neuroscience specialists is progressive, creative and encourage clinical excellence.

Demand for the neurosciences will increase sharply over the next decade, in particular the diagnosis of stroke, neuromuscular disease, brain tumor, Parkinson's Disease, and Alzheimers. This is crucial to Oklahomans since our state has poor health habits including increased smoking and obesity and decreased exercise habits, all of which are modifiable risk factors for stroke.

The fastest growing age group in Oklahoma is 45-65, which puts many of our citizens at high risk for chronic diseases such as stroke.  However, the greatest growth in our senior population is yet to occur, which will greatly impact the total health care utilization.  One of the targeted key disease states is neurosciences (2004, Oklahoma State of the States Health Report).  Our community-based Neuroscience Institute at INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center offers the highest quality of neuroscience services in a consumer-friendly and compassionate manner.
