The INTEGRIS programs works closely with the hospital based PACER Fitness Center. This center is conveniently located on the INTEGRIS Baptist campus. The exercise physiologists are specifically trained to help develop an individualized fitness program using home-based equipment, local health club facilities, or the onsite PACER Fitness Center facility.

Studies show that exercise programs without structure or accountability are frequently unsuccessful and are difficult to maintain. Lifestyle changes incorporating increased energy expenditure and promoting short but effective exercise periods attaining target heart rates provide the best chance of sustainable weight reduction and improved cardiopulmonary health.

Exercise programs are designed for each patient to be low-to-high impact depending on the patient's current cardiopulmonary status. Physical limitations are also reviewed to provide a structured regime that is reassessed and monitored monthly. A standardized Rockaport walking test is utilized to evaluate progress and to assess ability of increasing the patient's impact level.
