- …includes the patient and family in decision making with the Hospice team.
- …instruction that allows the patient, family, and friends to stay as active as possible, express and accept feelings, care for loved ones, deal with stress, control pain, and cope with grief.
Who is eligible for Hospice Care?
- Terminal diagnosis with life expectancy of less than 6 months.
- Primary goal of comfort, NOT cure.
Who pays for Hospice?
- Medicare provides Hospice benefits.
- Most insurance covers Hospice care.
