Dr. C. Joseph Chouteau is 1 of 5 regional physicians selected as a Health Care Hero by the Joplin Business Journal for 2009. He will be honored at the Awards Breakfast Banquet March 31 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Butcher’s Block Banquet Center, Joplin, MO.

Dr. Chouteau has been in family practice since 1981 and came to Grove from Miami in 1987. In 2 decades of practice, Dr. Chouteau has served as a leader for fifteen years as a Governing Board member for both INTEGRIS Health and INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital. He is a member of the Medical Executive Committee, the Medical Chair for the Performance Improvement Committee, and the Medical Director for local home care and hospice services. He also has served INTEGRIS Grove as Chief of Staff,

For more than 22 years, Dr. Chouteau has made significant contributions to health care in the Grand Lake area, even making an occasional house call and volunteering at the Christian Medical Clinic.

He is married to Dana who is an RN, MS, FACHE, and INTEGRIS Grove’s Assistant Vice-President of Quality Services. The couple has two grown children and six grandchildren.
