Beginning on November 14, 2006, INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital is adopting a tobacco-free policy on all campuses. This means that as of that date, no tobacco use of any kind will be permitted – inside or outside – on our property. This initiative will also include the elimination of designated areas outside our facility where employees, patients and visitors currently smoke.
This policy has been endorsed by numerous health advocacy groups, including the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.
INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital is undertaking this initiative to serve our core mission: to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. As an organization of health professionals, we must treat the whole person, we must provide a healthy environment and tobacco use on our premises simply undermines those efforts. Tobacco is the number one source of preventable deaths in the U.S. According to the American Lung Association, its use kills 440,000 Americans every year.
Upon your admission to this facility, please notify the admissions staff if you are a smoker. This information will be forwarded to your physician who can make arrangements to provide you with tobacco abatement products or discuss alternative resources for you.
Thank you for your cooperation with this INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital policy and for helping to maintain a healthier environment for everyone.
