INTEGRIS CLINTON REGIONAL HOSPITAL NAMED 2006 CARESCIENCE™ SELECT PRACTICE NATIONAL QUALITY LEADER IN ANNUAL CLINICAL OUTCOMES REPORT
Clinton, OK – September 26, 2006 – INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital, today announced that it was named as a 2006 CareScience Select Practice National Quality Leader hospital by excelling in overall quality and efficiency. The recognition of these accomplishments was published in the 2006 annual CareScience Select Practice National Quality Leader report, now available.
As a recipient of the 2006 Select Practice Quality Leader award, INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital is part of an elite group of the top one percent performers across the 4,500 acute care hospitals in the United States as identified by the CareScience™ Select Practice methodology, which utilizes both quality and efficiency indices to track a hospital’s overall performance. The Quality index is calculated by combining the outcome deviations for mortality, morbidity, and complications into a single quality measure for each facility. CareScience calculates its efficiency index by using length-of-stay as a proxy for resource usage, which reflects how efficiently hospitals allocate resources amongst patients. These calculations result in an increased emphasis on clinical outcomes data as compared with other quality awards. The combined quality and efficiency rating determines the CareScience annual Select Practice recipients. The hospitals must be in the top one percent for each index to attain this recognition. All acute care inpatient facilities in the United States were eligible to receive a CareScience National Select Practice designation.
”INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital’s inclusion in the 2006 CareScience Select Practice National Quality Leader- Report confirms the organization’s dedication and success in implementing high quality patient care,” said Richard Bankowitz , MD, MBA, vice president and medical director, CareScience. “We believe the CareScience Select Practice National Quality Leaders represent the country’s very best healthcare facilities for overall patient care, and based on INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital’s high level of clinical success, we are pleased to award them with a Select Practice designation.”
