In December 2005, ICanadian Valley Hospital instituted the use of order sets to ensure that our medical and nursing staffs have an opportunity to utilize the latest evidenced-based protocols for the treatment of heart failure. Prior to the use of order sets, there was much variability among the medical staff in how heart failure was managed. The heart failure order set provides structure and consistency to the management of cardiac patients.
