Hospital Receives Top 100 Status

March, 2006

INTEGRIS Canadian Valley was recently named as one of the nation’s Top 100 hospitals by Evanston, Illinois-based Solucient, the nation’s leading source of healthcare information products.

The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence based on objective statistical measurements of performance across five critical areas:  clinical outcomes, patient safety, operational efficiency, financial performance, and growth.  This is the first time that Canadian Valley has received this honor.

Hospital administrator James Moore stated, “This award is truly an organization-wide achievement that requires a concerted effort by all levels of our management from board members, department managers, employees, and medical staff.”  “Achieving this status is also a true reflection on our ability to provide sustainable and reliable health care services to the residents of Yukon and the surrounding communities we serve.”

The 13th edition of Solucient’s  “100 Top Hospitals:  National Benchmarks for Success” was published in the February 27th issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.  This study uses a balanced scorecard approach and scores hospitals according to nine key organization-wide measures.  In the category of “Small Community Hospitals”, Canadian Valley exceeded the median performance of its benchmark peer group in six of the nine performance measure categories.

“What a tremendous accomplishment – both for INTEGRIS and our community,” said Yukon City Manager Jim Crosby.  “INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Regional Hospital plays such an important role, both in our community and the surrounding area.  This hospital has been a catalyst for the economic growth Yukon has seen – and will continue to see in the future years ahead.”

The hospital will be recognized for their achievement at the 100 Top Hospitals Summit to be held in Phoenix, Arizona this May.
