Governing Board Member Honored as Outstanding City Manager

These are but a few of the many accolades noted at the recent Oklahoma Municipal League's Annual Awards Breakfast in which Yukon City Manager, Jim Crosby, received the prestigious 2008 Gerald Wilkins Award (City Manager of the Year). Crosby is the 20th recipient of the award which was established in honor of the late Gerafd Wilkins, longtime city manager and municipal advisor to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

A vital piece to the economic growth of the Yukon community, under Jim's 14 year leadership, was the vision and conversion of a 20-acre wheat field to a full service hospital. In 2001, that vision and conversion came full circle. As a current and founding member of the hospital governing board, Jim is now witnessing a major hospital expansion which will see patient care services almost double in size in just 7 short years of operation.

He serves as a true pillar of strength, courage and dedication throughout the community," noted hospital president, James Moore. "Mr. Crosby's contributions to the Yukon community will forever work to promote continued growth and improved health."
