Recycle, Re-Use and Reduce!

Volunteer Auxilary members Pam Young, Peggy Petersen, and Ann Moore support the "GO GREEN" efforts to Recycle, Re-Use, and Reduce!

You're familiar with the A-3's and 5-S's of the Lean Philosophy, but the physicians, staff and volunteers at ICanadian Valley Hospital are implementing the 3-R's of the Go Green Philosophy: Recycle, Re-Use and Reduce!

In an effort to have a more positive impact on the environment and conserve natural resources, INTEGRIS Health implemented a pilot program throughout the metro, Spencer and Yukon facilities. This "Go Green" initiative includes the recycling of plastic bottles, aluminum cans and plain paper.

In just the first month alone, ICanadian Valley Hospital recycled 280 pounds of plastic and 150 pounds of aluminum! Participation is vital to the success of any new program and with the combined efforts of the hospital staff, patients, and visitors, this initiative will no doubt have a positive impact on the environment for years to come.

Recycling efforts have now been expanded to include plastic forks, spoons, and knives along with sterile water bottles and saline bottles. Look for "big blue" the next time you're at the Yukon facility and do your part to support the Go Green Philosophy!
