Blackwell Regional Hospital Foundation, Inc. is a 501( c)3 organization All foundation gifts are tax deductible
Dedicated to development of gifts and bequests to carry out the mission of INTEGRIS Blackwell Regional Hospital, which is to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.
EVERY DOLLAR RAISED FOR THE HOSPITAL IS USED FOR THE HOSPITAL.
The Circle of Friends is an annual event and is the foundation’s major fundraising effort. Each year, the foundation board chooses a project and focuses on gaining the necessary dollars to fund that particular project
The Circle of Friends 2004 event raised over $82,000. This allowed the hospital to purchase new beds with new mattresses, new bed side cabinets, new over bed tables, new chairs for patients and visitors and new chairs that fully recline into a small bed for over night visitors. The new equipment started arriving at the end of June and is slowly being exchanged with the old.
Last year the Circles of Friends project allowed the hospital to purchase new digital radiology technology.
Digital Radiology/Picture Archiving and Communication/PACS is the ability to create diagnostic images, which can be stored and recalled on computer and viewed on the screen as opposed to printing the image on film and viewing it on a light box.
Digital Radiology/PACs allows for radiology coverage by more than one source. If a group of radiologists is overloaded or discontinues services, digital images can be rerouted to other radiologists for continuous coverage. This allows a facility to continue to provide this vital service to its community. The equipment was installed in July 2005

The project this year is to raise funds to purchase a computerized medication management system. This system will cut down on medication errors, enhance patient safety, secure medicines from theft, and save time for the nurses, so they will have more bedside time with our patients.
CARE Fund
C=Community, A=Assistance, R=Relief, E=Effort, is to be used for inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients at INTEGRIS Blackwell Regional Hospital. The purpose of the CARE program is to improve the quality of care for needy patients as the return home after their hospital stay, to improve the wellness of the community through outreach education, and to decrease unnecessary visits to the emergency room and physicians clinics.
Some of the services provided by the CARE program include; educational videos on a wide variety of healthcare issues including prevention & care, prenatal & parenting classes, diabetes awareness & education. CARE also provides assistance with medications, medical equipment & supplies needed after release from the hospital, diabetes supplies & services, and medical services including ultrasounds, x-rays, physical therapy, etc.
Due to cuts in state & federally funded healthcare programs (such as Eldercare), increase in Medicaid and Self-pay patients, increase in the incident of diabetes, and the fact that prescription drugs are still not included in Medicare, contribute to the need for the CARE program. In addition, Ponca City and other area physicians have quit taking Medicaid OB patients, a gap that Blackwell doctors are filling, resulting in a baby boom at INTEGRIS Blackwell Regional Hospital. 93 babies were delivered in FY 2002 and nearly 400 in FY 2004, with the trend anticipated to continue!
The CARE program has made a tremendous difference in many lives, from a young traffic victim needing physical therapy, an elderly woman needing a transfer bench in order to be released from the hospital care to home health care, to a large number of pregnant patients with gestational diabetes needing education, supplies, and dietary services in order to improve their health
Equipment Fund
These funds allow the hospital to purchase much needed equipment.
