INTEGRIS Blackwell Regional Hospital has partnered with Radiology Associates Inc. to read hospital radiology images and provide fast, highly specialized patient care.
Based in Oklahoma City, Radiology Associates provides 15 board certified radiologists to read and report on all INTEGRIS Blackwell’s radiology images including CT scans, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, x-ray and MRI.
“Radiology Associates provides a large number of radiologists to read our images resulting in a fast turnaround time,” said Kendall Whittington, director of radiology at INTEGRIS Blackwell. “Delays in radiologists’ reports mean delays in patient treatment. Our partnership with Radiology Associates is a great benefit to our patients.”
In addition to diagnostic radiology, many of Radiology Associates’ radiologists have subspecialty training in areas including neuroradiology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, CT, ultrasound, MRI, mammography and musculoskeletal radiology.
“Our patients’ radiology images will be read by specialists for the most accurate readings possible,” Whittington continued.
“Radiology Associates is a tremendous diagnostic tool for physicians in north-central Oklahoma,” said Joe Forrest, operations manager for Radiology Associates. “By receiving our radiologists’ reports quickly, the physician can evaluate and decide a patient’s appropriate treatment plan in a timely manner.”
Using INTEGRIS Blackwell’s Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), all radiology images taken at INTEGRIS Blackwell are sent through a secure web site, allowing Radiology Associates to evaluate images from their Oklahoma City locations. After the radiologists read the images and dictate a report, the information is faxed back directly to the referring physician and INTEGRIS Blackwell.
