Diabetes

The INTEGRIS Bass Pavilion’s Diabetes Center of Oklahoma recently received certification from the American Diabetes Association (ADA).

The certification recognizes that the center meets the educational standards set by the ADA.

Programs applying for this certification voluntarily submit to a rigorous review process by experts in the field of diabetes who evaluate each program on its ability to provide patients with a comprehensive, individualized education program.

“The process gives professionals a national standard by which to measure the quality of service they provide,” said Linda Yauk, dietitian/certified diabetes educator at the Diabetes Center. “And, of course, it assures the client that he or she will receive quality care.”

The Diabetes Center is located in the INTEGRIS Bass Pavilion at 401 S. Third, and works with healthcare professionals on current treatment options, clinical protocols, and research data. The Diabetes Center team teaches patients and family members to manage the disease in order to live longer healthier lives.

They offer individualized education and self-management training on a variety of issues including:  Nutrition, physical activity, medication, monitoring, crisis intervention, preventing, detecting and treating complications.
