INTEGRIS BASS WELCOMES NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
8-7-08

Becky Tucker is busy by anyone’s standards.    Becky has just recently located to Enid to accept the role of Chief Financial Officer for INTEGRIS Bass Baptist.   She and her husband, Gary, along with their two children, Rachel and Zac, are making their home here.   In addition to being a wife and mother, and tackling a challenging new position, Becky and her husband are also both college students, and selling their home in Piedmont, all the while settling in to their new Enid abode.

Becky makes it look easy, however, and has quickly gotten comfortable in her role at the hospital. She sat down for this interview with a cheerful attitude, clearly relaxed in her well-organized office, as she shared details about her family, educational background, and professional experience.

The youngest child, and only daughter, in a family of 5 children, Becky grew up in far north Dallas.   She came to Oklahoma for college and attended Southern Nazarene University.  It was there she met her future husband, Gary, although they didn’t date while attending the university.

Becky received her degree in Accounting, and moved back to Dallas.  She was attending a CPA review course there, when she crossed paths with Gary again.  This time the two connected and began dating.  She relocated to Oklahoma when the company she was working for in Dallas was purchased by Columbia Health Care.   When she arrived in Oklahoma, in 1995, she took a job at INTEGRIS Health and was the Financial Reporting Manager prior to accepting the position in Enid.

Two months after moving to Oklahoma Becky and Gary tied the knot.

Gary is a professor and the Business Department Chair at Oklahoma City Community College.  He teaches business and marketing courses and is working on his doctorate in Marketing.   But Gary isn’t the only member of the family attending college.  Becky is pursuing her Masters in Health Care Administration.  She will complete her degree in February.

The Tuckers have two children, Rachel, age 10 and Zac, age 7.  The entire family is excited about being here, Becky said.

“In fact my husband and kids were ready to make the move before there was even an offer.”

The family still owns a home in Piedmont that they are preparing to sell and have plans to build a new home in Enid.

Becky said Enid was attractive because of its family focus.

“The community is incredible.  Everyone is really friendly and the people here look at you and smile.”  She said.

The position of Chief Financial Officer was also appealing because it offers Becky a more strategic role in the organization.  Of the challenge, Becky said she’s looking forward to learning the job and the hospital and being involved at an operational level.

With both parents in college, working, and trying to raise two children,  Becky admits that it might be overwhelming if it wasn’t for the support of the whole family.

“Our kids are awesome.  My husband and I visit with the kids, to get their feedback and they are cooperative and supportive, so we are just careful to coordinate and plan who needs to be where at what time and so forth.”

When they aren’t working or attending class, the Tucker’s enjoy cars.  They look forward to joining the Corvette Club here in Enid and Gary is working on restoring a Firebird.  The next project will be Becky’s 1950s Army truck.   Son Zac is a self proclaimed “motorhead” like Dad.   Becky said her love of cars came from being the only girl and youngest child in a large family and that the interest was something she and her father could share.

The Tucker family also enjoys travelling and learning about history by visiting specific places.  The family is already planning a trip to New England to study the places and events that shaped the country’s formation when Rachel reaches Junior High.

Becky said the family is looking forward to getting to know the community better.

July 2008  - A Record Month For Babies at Bass
8-1-08

INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center reported 104 births in July, a record number of deliveries for any one month in hospital history.   July's total breaks the record of 96 deliveries set back in December.  In October of 2006 the hospital reported 95 deliveries.

The number of births has risen each year since the new Women’s Center was completed in 2003.  That project doubled the size of the previous unit and as a result INTEGRIS Bass offers a state-of-the art birthing center designed with the comfort of the new mom in mind.  Birthing suites are larger and each one has its own private Jacuzzi tub.  The birthing center also offers a state of the art security system.

“Its attractive to moms-to-be because of the design and the size of the rooms, but I think most moms that deliver here will agree that it’s our staff that sets us apart.”   Said Carolyn Owens, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of the Women’s Center.

“We often hear comments from families that say they felt like they were the only patients in the hospital, because of all the extra attention and special care they received.”  We take great pride in that,” Owens said.
