Green Country 5K Benefit Run


5K Logo 2008Welcome to the second annual Green Country 5K Benefit Run. All proceeds from this year’s benefit will go to the Ottawa County United Way. The event is sponsored by INTEGRIS Baptist Regional Health Center, INTEGRIS Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine and the Miami Convention and Visitor Bureau.

Cost
Pre-register - Cost for participants who pre-register for the event is $20. Pre-registrations must be post marked by Friday, October 10, or dropped off at the Miami Area Chamber of Commerce office at 111 North Main Street, Miami, by Wednesday, October 15.
Day of Event - Cost for participants who register the day of the event is $25. T-shirts will be available while supplies last.
Students - Children 14 and under can participate free of charge, but will not receive a t-shirt. 

Registration and Check-in 7:00 – 8:45 a.m.
Miami Physicians’ Clinic parking lot

T-shirts will be given out at the registration tables for all pre-registered participants. Additional t-shirts will be available while supplies last to participants who register the day of the event.

Directions – from the Turnpike gate, turn west on to Steve Owens Blvd. and continue past Main Street to B Street SW. Turn North on B Street SW and continue 2 blocks to the Miami Physicians’ Clinic parking lot.
Additional Parking – There is additional public parking in the 100 blocks of A St NE, one-way street running north, and A St NW, one-way street running south, which is near the finish lines.

Race Begins: 9:00 a.m.
To avoid congestion for those running the 5K, walkers are asked to position themselves at the rear of the pack.

5K Course - Start 1 ½ blocks W of the intersection of Main St and Central and run E one mile and turn left (N) on Elm St. to Rockdale Blvd. Turn left (W) on Rockdale and go past NEO A&M College turning left (S) on I St NE. Go right (W) onto 3rd Ave NE and proceed to Main St. Turn left (S) on Main St and enjoy the historic view while racing to the finish.

Finish
There will be fruit, granola bars, juice and bottled water available at the conclusion of the race for all participants.

Goodies/Give-a-Ways
There will be a table of goodies/give-a-ways donated by area business available for all participants to enjoy. Items may include gift certificates, discount coupons, pens, koozies, note pads, lip balm and more.

Awards Presentation
After the final 5K competitor completes the race, awards will be given for the overall male / female, and the first 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups: 15 and under, 16 - 25, 26 - 39, 40 - 54, 55 +
