To measure the hospital’s performance, patients are routinely asked to rate the care they received following a visit to the hospital or physician office. Utilizing the service of Press Ganey Associates, the nation’s leading patient satisfaction research company, patients receive a survey in the mail that consists of questions designed to determine patient perception using a five point grading scale from very good to very poor.
Questions on the survey cover a broad range of areas including physician and nursing care, admission process, treatment of visitors and family, as well as the quality of meals, cleanliness of your patient room, and much more. Press Ganey sends quarterly reports to INTEGRIS Baptist Regional Health Center. The results of the surveys are compared to hospitals of similar size across the country and a ranking is determined based on this comparison. Patient satisfaction surveys are also a great way to recognize employees of INTEGRIS Baptist Regional who went beyond the call of duty. Every employee mentioned in a patient’s survey receives special recognition from hospital management.
Each survey also has space available to write any additional comments concerning the patient’s experience at the hospital. In fact, written suggestions are often used to implement new processes and procedures at the hospital and various clinics.
