INTEGRIS Cancer Institute of Oklahoma
Oklahoma’s status as a leader in cancer treatment and technology is being elevated to a national level with the upcoming opening of the INTEGRIS Cancer Institute’s proton campus this fall, placing it among only six locations in the nation to offer proton therapy. This leading new facility, combined with the southwest region’s foremost collection of medical experts in research, care, prevention and treatment, means even better cancer care.
Working with the newly opened ProCure Proton Therapy Center to bring proton therapy to the state of Oklahoma establishes the organization as a regional and national program through a network that includes the Troy & Dollie Smith Cancer Center at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center,
the Central Oklahoma Cancer Center at INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center, and cancer services at INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital and INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.
While structurally connected, the relationship between NTEGRIS Cancer Institute of Oklahoma and ProCure Proton Therapy Center offers benefits beyond convenient access for cancer patients.
Those include:
- Multi-disciplinary care providing customized treatment plans
- Multi-faceted approach to well-being, including support groups and other therapeutic classes
- A comprehensive continuum of care.
In addition to traditional radiation therapy, the new facility houses three radiation therapy units providing the latest in imageguided and intensity-modulated radiation therapy. It also has two high dose rate brachytherapy suites, where radioactive sources are actually placed within the body itself; a full set of clinical laboratory services; and 18 infusion suites, where chemotherapy and immunotherapy are delivered; access to genetic counseling, clinical research and prevention trials.
The new cancer institute also features an integrated wellness center, designed to enhance the treatment of the entire person; a retail and compounding pharmacy; and a patient resource center where medical treatment and support information is readily available to patients, their families and caregivers.
With the combined approach of proton and photon therapy available at the INTEGRIS Cancer Institute of Oklahoma proton campus, Oklahomans have access to the most advanced cancer care treatments right here in our own backyard. The INTEGRIS Cancer Institute of Oklahoma
and ProCure Proton Therapy Center stand together to offer more Oklahomans and patients from around the country the
opportunity to be survivors of more types of cancer.
