OKLAHOMA THE FIRST 100 YEARS
Many people may not believe that Oklahoma is a very diverse state. However a recent comparison of Oklahoma and the United States proved otherwise using the 2000 US Census information. When measured by age, educational attainment, veteran status, and other diverse characteristics, we have found that Oklahoma is on the average as diverse as the rest of the country. We are not saying that we as a state shouldn't continue to strive to be more diverse and welcoming to a diverse population. We are simply showing how far we have come in our first 100 years as a state and think of where we might be after our next 100 years. |
