Nurse Residency Program
It can be a challenge to hit the ground running right after graduation. That’s why INTEGRIS Health hosts a one year Nurse Residency Program, which is an expanded orientation designed to help the new RN graduate make a smooth transition from student to professional member of a health-care team. This program is designed to help our nurses more fully contribute to delivering the most challenging healing.
Participants receive classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience under the mentorship of an experienced RN. The Nurse Residency Program is tailored to the skills and knowledge requirements of the unit in which nurses are hired.
No matter which clinical area you choose, you’ll be educated on a wide range of subjects and learn a variety of techniques.
Nurse Externship Program
The Nurse Externship Program is a summer program for nursing students who have completed a minimum of two semesters of clinical course work in an accredited registered nursing program and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
The program builds on the student’s nursing knowledge through instruction and clinical experience under the direct supervision of an RN. The goal is to develop participants’ profi ciency and confi dence in specific basic nursing and interpersonal communication skills.
Externs are not required to commit to working at INTEGRIS Health after graduation; however, students are encouraged to work part-time during their last year of nursing school to maintain and further develop clinical skills.
Clinical Areas
Nurse Externs may choose up to three areas of interest for placement. While placement is not guaranteed, INTEGRIS Health makes every effort to accommodate your selections.
Curriculum
During the program you will be able to perform nursing procedures, including urinary catheterization, airway suctioning, venipuncture, tracheostomy care, tube feedings, sterile dressing changes and blood glucose monitoring.
Clinical experience on a patient care unit under the mentorship of an experienced RN who supports your learning process (a “preceptor”) is a key component of the curriculum.
Competitive Pay
As an INTEGRIS Health employee, you will receive competitive base pay and premium pay for weekends, holidays and shift differentials.
