INTEGRIS to Unveil the New Center of Excellence Wall

OKLAHOMA CITY - INTEGRIS Health takes great pride in all of the services offered at our facilities. But there are an elite few that have earned the distinction of being called a Center of Excellence.

In order to receive this high honor a program must meet certain criteria. If chosen, the name of the program is given a place of prominence on the Center of Excellence Wall.

On Feb.5, two new names will be unveiled at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center: the M.J. & S. Elizabeth Schwartz Sleep Disorders Center of Oklahoma and the James R. Daniel Cerebrovascular & Stroke Center.

The INTEGRIS Sleep Disorders Center of Oklahoma was already distinguished as a Center of Excellence. Dr. Jonathan Schwartz, Dr. Elliott Schwartz, and their brother Michael Schwartz wanted to memorialize their parents by naming the center after them.

“We wanted to honor our parents as they have been the two most important and impactful people in our lives,” says Dr. Jonathan Schwartz, medical director of the Sleep Disorders Center. “Whatever success we have achieved is due to their support and encouragement.”

James R. “Jim” Daniel has committed $1 million to help establish the INTEGRIS Cerebrovascular & Stroke Center. He has been a lifelong supporter of the healthcare system that treated both of his parents.

“Eventually losing both of my parents to strokes really heightened my awareness of the disease and its prevalence in Oklahoma and America,” says Jim Daniel. “I truly believe strokes are preventable with the proper diet, exercise and education; but should a stroke occur, your only defense is to receive immediate treatment and the best medicine has to offer.”

The media is invited to attend a special unveiling ceremony.

Donors and dignitaries will be present and available for interviews.
