INTEGRIS Health to Provide Diabetes Talk in Spanish, Given by Maria Marín

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Thursday, April 12, from 6:30 to 8;30 p.m., Maria Marín, honorary spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association, will give a talk in Spanish over the disease. The talk will take place at Oklahoma City Community College, 7777 S. May Ave., in the student union conference rooms 1, 2 and 3.
Diabetes is a significant health problem in the Latino community. With rates twice as high as non-Latinos, it is critical to offer information to the Latino community over the gravity of this disease; its risk factors and the ways they can control, delay or prevent it, in case they are at a high risk for the disease.
Maria Marín is a national columnist and writes for newspapers concerning themes for women on personal strength and empowerment. Her column “Mujer Sin Límite” or “Woman Without Limits” is published weekly in the most important markets in the United States and Puerto Rico. Maria Marín is a part of the TV program “Despierta América” or “Wake up America” as the main expert and motivator on the show.
