Several INTEGRIS Facilities Nationally Recognized for Clinical Excellence

April 3, 2007

OKLAHOMA CITY
- The following INTEGRIS Health facilities will be receiving the 2007 VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence: INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center, INTEGRIS Blackwell Regional Hospital, INTEGRIS Clinton Regional Hospital, INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital, INTEGRIS Mayes County Medical Center and INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center.

Each year VHA Inc., a national health care alliance based in Irving, Texas, honors hospitals that meet or exceed national performance standards for clinical care in at least one of six specific areas.

  • treatment for heart attack patients
  • prevention of surgical infections
  • treatment for congestive heart failure
  • implementation of rapid response teams
  • prevention of blood stream infections
  • treatment for pneumonia patients

Together, the seven INTEGRIS facilities were recognized for their efforts in four of the six categories – with most being honored in multiple areas. (See breakdown below.)

“This is quite an accomplishment,” says Stanley Hupfeld, President and CEO of INTEGRIS Health. “Especially since out of the 264 total Clinical Excellence winners, only 65 hospitals were honored for their efforts in two or more of the clinical categories and as few as 20 hospitals won an award in three clinical categories.”

The winning health care organizations will be honored at VHA’s 24th annual Leadership Conference in Denver on May 20.
