Since 2001, INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital has invested more than $11 million in the construction of a new Physicians Office Building and an Ambulatory Care Center that houses state-of-the-art equipment second to none in the four-state area. INTEGRIS Grove will begin the construction of their new hospital in 2008.
Soldiers’ Fund
For the fourth straight year, Operation Palm Tree collected and shipped some much needed supplies to our troops serving overseas. This year, INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital gathered nearly 7,000 pounds of “goodies,” which included 1,500 candy bars, 60 pairs of warm wool Army boot socks, granola bars, boots, beef jerky and other items designed to brighten a soldier’s day
Annual Camp Bandage Events
Camp Bandage (K-6) and Camp Bandage Junior (pre-school children) serve to educate children in basic first aid, CPR, fire safety, electrical safety, water safety, possible dangers from strangers and many other important safety and health related precautions. Adopted and launched by INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital in 1991, the camps are held annually in the community, with this years’ grand finale including a mock automobile accident with “victims” rescued by the Air Evac Lifeteam.
Shelter From the Storm
The entire Grove community pulled together and came to the aid of area residents during Oklahoma’s devastating January ice storm. In particular, INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital provided home medical equipment, oxygen treatments and other medical needs, as well as establishing shelters during the bitterly cold weather for those in need – many of whom were without electrical power, food supplies, heat and other necessities during this disaster.
Truth and Consequence
INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital’s Dr. Robert Thomas, OB/GYN, joined forces with the employees of Grove Public Schools and local Rotary Club members to present a program on teen sexuality, appropriately titled Truth and Consequences. This program encourages teens to make healthy choices about their sexuality, focusing on the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy prevention, and legal consequences of becoming sexually active.
Annual Health Fair
The annual Grove Health Fair was hosted by INTEGRIS Grove General Hospital, providing an outreach to the community as well as free medical screenings. Hospital physicians, nurses and volunteers administered 69 PSA screenings (for prostate health), 181 total screenings for triglycerides, HDL and LDL (high- and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) screenings, along with blood pressure and pulse oximeter screenings at the annual health fair.
