INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center was first operated from inside a six-bedroom home. The Garfield County campus now encompasses a combination of 207 licensed beds throughout three facilities.
The open-heart surgery program continues to offer the best cardiac care in northwest Oklahoma. Recently INTEGRIS Bass Baptist constructed a new Emergency Center and Women’s Center and continues to purchase advanced, leading edge diagnostic equipment.
Asthma Camp
Kids in and around Enid are breathing easier as a result of INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center’s second annual Asthma Camp, held at Oakwood Bowl. Twenty children were directed through a variety of different learning stations where they participated in interactive discussions about lung anatomy, asthma triggers, aero chambers, peak flows, signs and symptoms, medication delivery devices, asthma-allergy medications and other topics. After the educational sessions and a complimentary lunch, the children bowled two games and played Lungo and asthma charades.
Caring Packages to Soldiers in Iraq
For the second year in a row, Operation: Bass Hospital Cares! filled shoeboxes with Christmas packages and supplies for our troops serving in Iraq – ‘care’ packages to show how much we care for soldiers and other military personnel who are serving overseas and away from their homes and families for the holidays. More than 200 boxes were collected, filled with needed items, gift wrapped and mailed to Iraq as a show of support for our fighting men and women.
Garfield Elementary School
More than a dozen employees of INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center donated nearly 350 hours of their time to adopt a local elementary school this year while providing classroom mentors to work one-on-one with students. Garfield Elementary was specifically selected because of its student demographics: primarily from lower-income households, with 89 percent of students qualifying for free or reduced lunches. INTEGRIS was the first local business to participate in the Adopt-a-School program created by the Enid Public Schools Foundation.
Pooh’s Corner
Working in conjunction with the local YWCA, INTEGRIS Bass Baptist helped form Pooh’s Corner, a daycare center for teen moms. The center’s mission is to help keep young mothers enrolled in school, while providing affordable, fully licensed daycare services for their children. INTEGRIS Bass provided startup funding for equipment and supplies, and continues to provide lunchtime meals for the children and staff.
Safe Kids Coalition
INTEGRIS Bass Baptist serves as lead organization for the Safe Kids Coalition, a local group with international affiliates whose mission is to prevent accidents and unintentional injury to children. In addition to teaching safety seminars to local school children, the group also offers quarterly car seat checks and participates in seminars geared toward expectant mothers to keep their soon-to-be-born babies safe from accidents.
